Manual upload and Gold Tables

Choose between Basic and Complex upload, and know what Gold Tables is for.

Two upload modes exist, and they build genuinely different things — picking the wrong one gets you a spreadsheet sitting in a table, not a working KPI.

Data Management → Manual Data Upload has two tabs. Basic covers three separate periods — Reporting, Planning, Forecasting — each with its own upload-history table (Years, Upload Date, File Name, Author, Status), its own category and year-range filters, and its own Download template / Upload new… buttons. Status reads one of three ways: green "Successful upload", green-plus-amber "Successful upload, contains warnings", or red "contains errors."

The Manual Data Upload page's Basic tab, with Reporting, Planning and Forecasting sections each showing a From/To year range, Download template and Upload buttons, and a table of past uploads with Years, Upload Date, File Name, Author and Status columns — the Status column showing all three outcomes: contains errors (red), Successful upload, contains warnings (green with an amber warnings note), and a plain Successful upload.
The Manual Data Upload page's Complex tab, with a Reporting / Planning toggle set to Reporting, explanatory text that the file must include an ID column, a date column and a value column alongside any desired dimensions, and an Upload Excel file drop zone with a Next button.
The Gold Tables viewer for a table named iceberg-demo-data, with a Columns panel (20 columns, all checked) down the left, a Data grid showing 1-100 of 10,000 rows with columns like id, age, priority_rank, quantity, salary, score, ratio, name, email, description and uuid, pagination beneath it, a Filters section with an All Of (AND) condition builder and Add filter, and Manage access, Cancel, Apply and Done controls.

Takeaways

  • Basic = a template per period (Reporting/Planning/Forecasting), with pass / warning / error feedback per upload.

  • Complex = a raw export with ID, date and value columns, used to build dimensional KPIs with filters.

  • Gold Tables is a spreadsheet-style browser over existing tables — how a table lands in that list is still worth confirming.

Surfaces covered

  • Data issues tab and open count
